Corkbuzz – A Wine Bar in Chelsea

I recently visited Corkbuzz for the first time and I was impressed! The Chelsea location is inside Chelsea Market. It is small but nicely decorated with both a bar and tables. They have over 40 wines by the glass, with most glasses priced at $20 or less, so you can sample several wines without going broke. They also offer six wine flights, each consisting of three wines selected to follow a theme, and one flight is a blind tasting. I chose “Everybody Must Get Rhôned.” The theme was Cote de Rhône grapes from three different countries (including France of course). They change the flights regularly so if you visit often, you will encounter different flights.

You can also create your own wine flight. Any wine available by the glass is also available by the half glass, for half the price! So you can create your own flight of three or four wines to sample whatever you like.

If you are going to sample wines with some friends, or not driving home, their list of wines by the bottle is extensive – over 200 bottles of bubbly, white, rose and red wines from around the world! Remember, a $100 bottle of wine is only about $25 a glass.

They offer food designed to accompany wine, including snacks, small plates, and sweets,  as well as cheese and charcuterie. Most importantly, their staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and ready to help you decide which wines to try.

Corkbuzz also offers Live Wine Classes and Private Wine Experiences. You can sign up to receive a monthly notification of their classes or schedule a private tasting session for up to eight people. Overall, Corkbuzz is worth a visit, and I plan to return soon! (I receive no compensation from Corkbuzz).
